Immediately following, he was selected as the 349th Operations Group Deputy Commander, where he was responsible for leadership, management, administration and development of programs to train personnel in maintaining combat readiness of four flying squadrons, an aero-medical evacuation squadron, an operations support flight and an airlift control flight. In August 2013, Col Markowski was selected as an operations officer in the Joint Operations Center of USPACOM, J-3.
