Twenty-seven Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps cadets attended a five-day leadership development camp, June 20-24, here. During their stay at YARS, the cadets were introduced to a highly regimented lifestyle imitating that of Basic Military Training while learning what it takes to become a leader and a wingman.

Reserve Citizen Airmen from the 910th Airlift Wing helped fulfill a unique request by honoring a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II here, June 14, 2018. Charles Robert Johnson Jr. contacted the 910th AW public affairs office to ask if a 48-star U.S. flag he'd purchased in honor of his deceased father, Capt. Charles Robert Johnson Sr., could be flown at an Air Force installation and aboard an Air Force aircraft. The special flag, which was standard during WWII, was raised to the top of the Youngstown Air Reserve Station headquarters flagpole on Flag Day, also Johnson Sr.'s birthday, and will be flown aboard a 910th AW C-130H Hercules aircraft before being returned to Johnson Jr.

The Ohio National Guard’s 838th Military Police Company based out of Youngstown, Ohio arrives at the Youngstown Air Reserve Station USO lounge June 8. YARS helps launch soldiers to Serbia
The 910th Airlift Wing provided a stop for the ONG 838th MPC before they left for the Republic of Serbia as part of exercise Platinum Wolf, a multinational peacekeeping exercise.Youngstown Air Reserve Station USO volunteers treated the Ohio National Guard 838th Military Police Company to food, games and movies as they waited to board a C-17 Globemaster on YARS’s flightline. The 910th Logistics Readiness Squadron palletized the soldiers’ equipment and gear to go on to the aircraft.
