New mayor of Youngstown visits 910th, YARS
YOUNGSTOWN AIR RESERVE STATION, Ohio – The mayor’s visit to YARS concluded with a guided tour of the wing’s one-of-a-kind mission. Air Force Reserve Senior Master Sgt. Phil Aliberti, 910th Aerial Spray Maintenance Chief, shows one of the nozzles used in the wing’s aerial spray missions to Mayor John McNally (left), of the nearby City of Youngstown, at the Aerial Spray Facility here during an installation visit, Jan. 17, 2014. The nozzle Sergeant Aliberti is holding is part of the Modular Aerial Spray System (MASS). The MASS is used to carry out the unit’s unique capability. The 910th Airlift Wing is home to the Department of Defense’s only aerial spray squadron. The mayor visited YARS to learn more about the wing’s mission and the installation’s features firsthand as well as meet some of the Citizen Airmen assigned here.
