Spray maintainers install unique system
Master Sgt. Steven Feliz, Tech. Sgt. Frank Serrao and Tech. Sgt. Tom Neiswanger, all aerial spray maintainers with the 910th Maintenance Squadron, install a wing boom for the Modular Aerial Spray System (MASS) on a Youngstown C-130H Hercules aircraft here, Jan. 4, 2017. The 910th Airlift Wing operates the Department of Defense’s only aerial spray mission to control the spread of disease by eliminating pest insects, remove invasive vegetation and disperse oil spills in large bodies of water. The system typically uses booms that run through a port in the aircrew door, extending from the side of the aircraft. Aerial spray maintainers and operators still occasionally install and test the wing-mounted boom system to use for some applications. (U.S. Air Force photo/Eric White)
