A 910th Airlift Wing C-130H Hercules aircraft performs a low-level flyover for a stadium full of spectators during the singing of the National Anthem at the Mahoning Valley Scrappers baseball team’s home opener, Wednesday, June 20, 2012. The base color guard presented the colors during the Anthem, and Col. Reinhard Schmidt, commander of the 910th Airlift Wing, threw out the first pitch. Air Force recruiters from YARS set up a display table on the concourse and made their presence known by parading Airman Andy, a large inflatable mascot, through the stands to greet fans. As fans entered the stadium, they were able to view a Humvee from the Marine Corps Reserve Landing Support Equipment Company, Youngstown.

YOUNGSTOWN AIR RESERVE STATION, Ohio -- A model of a C-130 Hercules aircraft assigned to the 910th Airlift Wing, based here, is on display in front of a stone wall emblazoned with the wing shield just outside the YARS main gate. Proposed Air Force Reserve manning changes, released on March 6, 2012, mean the loss of 97 part-time drilling Reservist positions and the loss of 33 full-time Air Reserve Technician/civilian positions at the only Air Force installation in Northeast Ohio.

YOUNGSTOWN AIR RESERVE STATION, Ohio -- Five North Carolina-based C-130s and their aircrews seeking refuge from Hurricane Irene turned up on the flightline here, August  26, 2011. Four C-130Hs from Air Force Reserve Command's 440th Airlift Wing, based at Pope Air Force Base, North Carolina and one C-130J from Elizabeth City Coast Guard Station, North Carolina were evacuated to YARS as a precautionary measure to prevent damage to the aircraft as the U.S. eastern coast braced for Hurricane Irene to make landfall this weekend. A specially-equipped 910th C-130H Hercules cargo aircraft sprays a practice dispersant, actually water, onto the simulated oil spill as part of the response here, May 12, 2011.The 910th AW operates the Department of Defense's only large-area, fixed wing aerial spray capability.
