SAN ISIDIRO AIR BASE, Dominican Republic -- Workers use tarps to cover a cargo of 18,400 pounds of food and water on the bed of a truck sitting just off the tarmac here, January 21. A C-130H Hercules cargo aircraft, assigned to the U.S. Air Force Reserve's 910th Airlift Wing, can be seen in the background. The aircraft, based at Youngstown Air Reserve Station, Ohio, just delivered the cargo to the air base, located just outside of the Dominican capital of Santo Domingo. Michael Culp, a loadmaster with the 773rd Airlift Squadron, remove a loading ramp from the rear cargo platform of a C-130H Hercules tactical cargo transport aircraft on the tarmac, here, January 18. The Citizen Airmen are part of a 12-person crew assigned to the 910th Airlift Wing, based out of Youngstown Air Reserve Station, Ohio, that just delivered a group of U.S. Military medical personnel and supplies as part of the relief effort to the Haitian people in the aftermath of the massive earthquake that devastated Port-au-Prince and the surrounding areas last week. The medical personnel, consisting of U.S. Army and Air Force Servicemembers were flown, by the 910th's C-130, to Haiti from Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras. The 910th currently has three aircraft, crews of more than 30 personnel flying relief effort missions and a myriad of Citizen Airmen working at YARS to provide home station support to the crews. Michael Culp, a loadmaster assigned to the 773rd Airlift Squadron, work together to tighten a cargo strap securing a pallet to the rear cargo deck of a C-130H Hercules tactical cargo transport aircraft, assigned to the 910th Airlift Wing, on the cargo ramp here, January 17. Sergeants Gonzales and Culp are part of a 12-person crew from the 910th, based at Youngstown Air Reserve Station, Ohio, scheduled to deliver the pallet, a HUMVEE military vehicle, a trailer and supplies along with a group of 19 U.S. Military medical personnel to Port-au-Prince International Airport, Haiti as part of the relief effort to aid the people of the stricken island nation in the aftermath of the massive earthquake that devastated Port-au-Prince and surrounding areas last week.
