Phil Aliberti, 910th Aerial Spray Maintenance Chief, shows one of the nozzles used in the wing’s aerial spray missions to Mayor John McNally (left), of the nearby City of Youngstown, at the Aerial Spray Facility here during an installation visit, Jan. 17, 2014. The nozzle Sergeant Aliberti is holding is part of the Modular Aerial Spray System (MASS). The MASS is used to carry out the unit’s unique capability. The 910th Airlift Wing is home to the Department of Defense’s only aerial spray squadron. YOUNGSTOWN AIR RESERVE STATION, Ohio - The 910 AW's Winger and his old friend, T-Bird discuss the upcoming "Thunder Over The Valley 2014" Air Show and Open House, scheduled for May 17-18, 2014 here. The world famous Thunderbirds are scheduled to headline the event. Additional flying acts and static displays will be featured and will be announced as they are confirmed by show coordinators. The scheduled air show and open house will provide a chance for the 910th Airlift Wing to demonstrate its mission and display Air Force capabilities. YARS family lends a hand with Toys for Tots

YOUNGSTOWN AIR RESERVE STATION, Ohio – Air Force Reserve Master Sgt. John Martinelli, an electrician assigned to the 910th Civil Engineer Squadron, loads a “Toys for Tots” collection box with a variety of toys at the Community Activity Center here, Dec. 19, 2013. Each year 910th Airlift Wing Citizen Airmen and Department of Defense personnel, assigned here, work with the YARS-based U.S. Marine Corps Reserve unit to collect new, un-wrapped toys for area boys and girls (newborn through 16 years of age) to provide a gift for Christmas morning the children might otherwise not receive. Hundreds and hundreds of toys were collected across the air station and throughout the local community as well as monetary donations used to purchase additional toys. YOUNGSTOWN AIR RESERVE STATION, Ohio – The congressman’s visit to YARS concluded with a guided tour of the wing’s one-of-a-kind mission. Air Force Reserve Senior Master Sgt. Phil Aliberti, 910th Aerial Spray Maintenance Chief, explains the wing’s aerial spray mission during oil spill containment operations in the aftermath of the 2010 sinking of the Deepwater Horizon drilling platform in the Gulf of Mexico to Congressman Jim Renacci, Ohio’s 16th district representative, at the Aerial Spray Facility here during an installation visit, Dec. 19, 2013. Sergeant Aliberti said the unit uses the Modular Aerial Spray Systems (MASS), such as the one sitting on the trailer in the background, to carry out the unit’s unique capability.
