YOUNGSTOWN AIR RESERVE STATION, Ohio -- Air Force Reserve Senior Master Sgt. William A. Rooks Jr., a flight chief with the 910th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, retired during a Dec. 2, 2006 ceremony here after a 35-year career with the Air Force and Air Force Reserve. After spending many years of his career supporting the aerial spray mission, Sergeant Rooks was a pioneer in the development and operation of the Modular Aerial Spray Systems (MASS) used on board specially modified aerial spray C-130s today. Here, Sergeant Rooks receives the 910th Maintenance Squadron's coveted Silver Screwdriver Award from Master Sgt. Sam J. Phillippi, a 910th crew chief. U.S. Air Force photo/Master Sgt. Bryan Ripple.
