910th Airmen's Suite now open Published Nov. 9, 2016 By Tech. Sgt. Jim Brock 910th Airlift Wing Public Affairs YOUNGSTOWN AIR RESERVE STATION, Ohio -- Celebrating the contributions of each of the 910th Airlift Wing’s squadrons is an important part of maintaining the overall morale of Airmen serving on the base. A grand opening was held Nov. 6, 2016 to christen the new 910th Airlift Wing Airmen’s Suite, located in the wing headquarters building, which pays tribute to the accomplishments of base units while serving as a place for Airmen to meet and train. “The dedication of the Airmen’s suite is really about highlighting the significant contributions of all of our Airmen to the successful completion of our mission,” said 910th Airlift Wing Command Chief Master Sgt. Robert Potts. Potts explained that promotion and award boards will use the facility as a meeting space. Airmen will be able to use it to work on projects like their Enlisted Development Plan. The centerpiece of the suite is a wall containing 10 large photo collages of images from every squadron on the base. The wall pays tribute to the 910th’s Citizen Airmen performing their duties to accomplish the wing mission and also contains large full-color versions of the 910th Airlift Wing shield and the Youngstown aircraft tail flash. The suite has computer workstations and a small library of educational and historical books, guides and other information. “Individual enlisted councils and squadrons can contribute a legacy piece or something that is significant to their squadron; this would be a great place to put it,” said Potts. Senior Airman Thursday Wilson, president of the 910th Airlift Wing Airman’s Council and the 757th Airlift Squadron’s resource manager, already uses the facility for council meetings. “I think it is a great place to show our heritage and history, showing how far we’ve come and looking to the future,” said Wilson. The facility is located in Room 219 in Building 128. Wing members can reserve the suite for meetings, training and general use.
