910th OG Aviation Resource Management team named best in AFRC Published June 3, 2013 By TSgt. Brenda Cosola 910AW/PA YOUNGSTOWN AIR RESERVE STATION, Ohio -- The 910th Operations Group Aviation Resource Management team was recently named 2012 Sergeant Dee Campbell Outstanding Small Unit of the year by the Air Force Reserve Command. This award is given to the best ARM team within AFRC with 29 members or less. The ARM team, which consists of five full-time managers and seven traditional reserve members, won the award for the third straight year. "I am extremely proud of their outstanding contributions and representation of the Air Force Reserve Command," said Lt. Gen. James F. Jackson, commander of AFRC, in a press release. Aviation resource managers work to ensure everything and everybody is ready for missions -- maintaining flight records, validating aircraft safety, monitoring daily flight mission data and establishing schedules for aircrew training. "It's awesome to win this for the third year in a row," said Senior Master Sgt. Mary Mracek, manager with the ARM team. "We have good teamwork. We're a really small group ... you have to be able to work together in a small section. We're made up of three different squadrons. All of us are here to support the flying squadrons." Their teamwork and dedication to duty shows in everything they do, said Senior Master Sgt. Paul Boothe. "This shows the results of this small team," Boothe said. "It's about more than the 'I' in this team, it's more of a 'we' award. We worked really hard to get to where we're at." Some of the major accomplishments of this team are their support of Operations New Dawn, Enduring Freedom, Coronet Oak and Aerial Spray operations both at home station and abroad. The team was recognized for their excellence during a USAF Central Command Aircrew Standards and Evaluation Visit, they exceeded expectations during the 910th Airlift Wing Readiness Assistance Visits and they were selected as the test base for a new Unit Training Assembly Program. The ARM team will now move forward and compete for the Air Reserve Component awards. "This is an achievement we should all be very proud of," said Boothe. "A former coach once told me, 'Champions are not made overnight. Losing seasons made us better. It takes a steady habit of determination and winning attitude to become champions. This is called perseverance; the old saying of when the going gets tough, the tough get going. This team has been placed on the pedestal of a higher standard. Be proud that you can now call yourselves champions. It is up to you to remain this way. The championship never ends.'"
