Megan Tomkins 910AW/PA YOUNGSTOWN AIR RESERVE STATION, Ohio -- In keeping with the Air Force's commitment to health and wellness, Youngstown Air Reserve Station hosted its fifth annual Fitness Fair May 5, 2012, here. The Fitness Fair featured various areas of physical health and fitness including: spinning, body weight training, abdominal workouts, nutrition and massotherapy. Since the new Fit-to-Fight campaign began, Service members have embraced a life of physical health. As of August 2011, 60 Airmen from Youngstown Air Reserve Station failed their test. The Fitness Fair was implemented to help those who may be at the beginning of their fitness journey. "People need to know there are other more interesting ways to get fit," said fitness center direct Kevin Hyman said. "The more fun the fitness is, the more likely people will want to work out." Preparation for the Fitness Fair took approximately two months and involved both YARS Reservists and civilians. "It's a joint operation," Hyman said. "It is the only time of the year we actually get to work together on a project. It is always very rewarding seeing the success of this event."
