January-February Airstream magazine to be Wing's final issue Published Feb. 7, 2012 By Eric M. White 910 AW/PA YOUNGSTOWN AIR RESERVE STATION, Ohio -- The now-available Jan.-Feb. 2012 Airstream magazine is the 910th's final issue. The Airstream has been part of the 910th Airlift Wing's heritage since the first issue's release in 1984. For almost 30 years, the magazine has kept the base populous up-to-date on the goings-on at Youngstown Air Reserve Station. After analyzing the cost-benefit of the magazine as compared to digital tools such as the station's public website, social media outlets and video capabilities, Wing leadership determined the best course for the future was to discontinue the Airstream. This means that the 910th Airlift Wing will be able to provide more news, more quickly and in more effective ways. The 910th Airlift Wing Public Affairs office is busy reworking sections of the public website (www.youngstown.afrc.af.mil), the Wing social media presence and processes for producing polished video news packages to better serve 910th Airmen and the community. In the near future, YARS website visitors can expect more frequent news posts featuring developed stories on the activities of the Wing. A new video tab on the website's homepage will provide links to the latest 910AW news videos. The Wing's Facebook page, listed under Youngstown Air Reserve Station, will be regularly updated with links to new content on the public website. Check the base website regularly to stay current with YARS news.
