Schmidt joins Youngstown Air Reserve Station from Headquarters Air Force Reserve Command, Robins Air Force Base, Ga., where he was the director of Installations and Mission Support. Schmidt is a master navigator with more than 4,000 flying hours. He is the recipient of the Major General Tom E. Marchbanks Jr. Award for heroism and is a member of the Reserve Officers Association and Airlift Tanker Association-VP Robins Chapter.
