910th AW hosts JROTC cadets Published Aug. 20, 2010 By Senior Airman Brenda Haines 910th Airlift Wing Public Affairs YOUNGSTOWN AIR RESERVE STATION, Ohio -- The 910th Airlift Wing here hosted 23 Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) cadets from Ohio high schools for a 5-day encampment here, Aug. 18-22. The JROTC cadets are students at East Technical High School in Cleveland, Green High School in Uniontown, and Trumbull Career and Technical Center in Warren. Approximately 12 Youngstown Air Reserve Station reservists volunteered to teach the teens leadership, teamwork, respect for others and the Air Force core values through mentorship training, workshops, physical fitness, and drill and ceremony exercises. "The objective is to educate and train the high school cadets in citizenship, promte community service, instill responsibility, build character and self discipline, and provide instruction on the air and space fundamentals," said 2nd Lt. Danielle C. Williams, 910th Force Support Squadron officer. The Air Force core values are integrity, service before self and excellence in all we do.
