YOUNGSTOWN AIR RESERVE STATION, Ohio – A parachute-equipped Container Delivery System (CDS) sits on the flightline here, March 8, 2015. Citizen Airmen assigned to the 76th Aerial Port Squadron prepared the CDS for loading aboard a 910th Airlift Wing C-130H Hercules aircraft for an airdrop training mission. The wing uses their C-130 aircraft during combat operations, including low-level infiltration flights, to deliver personnel and materials by airdrop or air-land methods as part of their wartime tasking and to conduct humanitarian relief efforts. YOUNGSTOWN AIR RESERVE STATION, Ohio – A propeller heating system is attached to the engines of an Air Force Reserve 910th Airlift Wing C-130H Hercules aircraft while it sits on the flightline here prior to an airdrop training mission, March 8, 2015. The heating system, operated and maintained by a joint effort of the 910th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron and the 910th Maintenance Squadron, are used to de-ice the aircraft’s propeller assemblies prior to operations in freezing weather conditions. The wing uses their C-130 aircraft during combat operations, including low-level infiltration flights, to deliver personnel and materials by airdrop or air-land methods as part of their wartime tasking, to conduct humanitarian relief efforts and for the wing’s mission as the Department of Defense’s only large-area fixed-wing aerial spray capability. YOUNGSTOWN AIR RESERVE STATION, Ohio -- Air Force Reserve aircrews and ground support personnel took advantage of a break in the recent harsh Ohio winter weather to ready an aircraft on the flightline here for an airdrop training mission, March 8, 2015. 757th Airlift Squadron aircrews flying C-130H Hercules tactical cargo transport aircraft assigned to the 910th Airlift Wing flew over nearby Camp Ravenna and airdropped simulated cargo via parachute-equipped pallets to awaiting recovery crews on the ground during the 910th's March Unit Training Assembly (UTA). The wing's Citizen Airmen continually train to carry out their mission to deploy, deliver, defend and accomplish their vision of being an Operational Force for Rapid Global Mobility with integrated and sustainable capabilities supporting our National Security.
