Ohio 16th district congressman visits 910th, YARS

YOUNGSTOWN AIR RESERVE STATION, Ohio – Congressman Jim Renacci’s Dec. 19, 2013 visit here started at the Air Force Reserve installation’s Community Activity Center for a facility walkthrough and a group meal featuring the annual YARS Holiday Fireside Luncheon. Ohio 16th district congressman visits 910th, YARS

YOUNGSTOWN AIR RESERVE STATION, Ohio – The congressman’s visit to YARS concluded with a guided tour of the wing’s one-of-a-kind mission. Air Force Reserve Senior Master Sgt. Phil Aliberti, 910th Aerial Spray Maintenance Chief, explains the wing’s aerial spray mission during oil spill containment operations in the aftermath of the 2010 sinking of the Deepwater Horizon drilling platform in the Gulf of Mexico to Congressman Jim Renacci, Ohio’s 16th district representative, at the Aerial Spray Facility here during an installation visit, Dec. 19, 2013. Sergeant Aliberti said the unit uses the Modular Aerial Spray Systems (MASS), such as the one sitting on the trailer in the background, to carry out the unit’s unique capability. The 910th Airlift Wing is home to the Department of Defense’s only aerial spray squadron. YOUNGSTOWN AIR RESERVE STATION, Ohio -- Congressman Jim Renacci of Ohio's 16th district visited the Air Force Reserve's 910th Airlift Wing based here, Dec. 19, 2013. The congressman toured YARS to learn more about the wing's capabilities and the installation's features firsthand as well as meet some of the Citizen Airmen assigned here. Although the representative's busy schedule only allowed him to visit the installation for a fast-paced two hour tour, he exclaimed at the end of his visit, "I wish I could spend all day here." Hopefully, this indicated he enjoyed seeing the sights of YARS as much as the personnel here were proud to show off YARS to him.
