Bob Barko, Jr. 910th Airlift Wing Public Affairs YOUNGSTOWN AIR RESERVE STATION, Ohio -- Staff from the offices of four members of Ohio’s U.S. House of Representatives delegation and Ohio’s senior U.S. Senator attended a Congressional Flight departing here, April 10, 2015. The attendees participated in a flight in YARS and Northeast Ohio airspace aboard a 910th C-130H Hercules aircraft then returned to the installation, took a windshield tour of YARS and received a preview of the new USO Lounge at YARS. “This flight will generate awareness of our mission among key congressional lawmakers and their staff members whose constituency includes personnel working at YARS,” said Col. James Dignan, 910th Airlift Wing commander. “These lawmakers and their staff may also have close interaction with us and support the 910th. We feel this flight will strengthen our working relationships as well as encourage these individuals to become stronger advocates for us.” According to Department of Defense (DoD) regulations, these flights are held in the best interest of DoD, Air Force (AF) and Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC) public affairs objectives and the invited congressional members or staffers can make positive contributions to the public's understanding of the roles and missions of the DoD, AF and AFRC.
