YOUNGSTOWN AIR RESERVE STATION, Ohio – Air Force Reserve 910th Airlift Wing Command Chief Master Sgt. Troy K. Rhoades; members of the Youngstown-area media; Col. James Dignan (center), 910th Airlift Wing commander and Mr. Edward Hitesman (seated), a World War II Army Air Corps veteran, listen as Jonathan Hitesman (right), talks about some of his father’s military memorabilia during a special tour here, Feb. 2, 2014. The 94-year-old Edward and his family, including son Jonathan, visited YARS at the request of Crossroads Hospice in Green, Ohio as part of the facility’s Gift of a Day program. The program is designed to ask terminal patients, “How do you envision your perfect day?” The hospice then strives to create that image and make it a special day for the patient and their family. The World War II veteran’s idea of a “perfect day” was to spend it at YARS and with the Citizen Airmen of the 910th Airlift Wing. U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Airman Rachel Kocin.
