910th Aerial Spray team participates in California Oil Spill Exercise
SOMEWHERE OFF THE CALIFORNIA COAST -- The Air Force Reserve's 910th Airlift Wing, the U.S. Coast Guard and more than 35 other organizations are participating in a multi-agency oil spill response exercise near the San Diego coast, May 11-12, 2011. A specially-equipped 910th C-130H Hercules cargo aircraft sprays a practice dispersant, actually water, onto the simulated oil spill as part of the response here, May 12, 2011. The 910th AW operates the Department of Defense's only large-area, fixed wing aerial spray capability. Participants in the exercise returned to their various home stations on May 13, 2011.
