Aerial connection
GRISSOM AIR RESERVE BASE, Ind. -- An F-22 Raptor from the 325th Fighter Wing prepares to connect to a KC-135 Stratotanker refueling boom over Florida March 18. Aerial refueling acts as a force multiplier for aircraft, allowing them to stay airborne longer and extending their reach. The KC-135 is from the 434th Air Refueling Wing at Grissom Air Reserve Base, Ind., which is the largest KC-135 unit in the Air Force Reserve Command. (U.S. Air Forcephoto/Senior Airman Damon Kasberg)
