YARS Airman accepts Toys for Tots from Cub Scout pack
WARREN, Ohio -- Air Force Reserve Master Sgt. Bob Barko Jr., 910th Airlift Wing superintendent of public affairs, kneels next to three Cub Scouts and two bags full of gifts at Blessed Sacrament Elemnetary School here, Dec. 16. Sergeant Barko, based at nearby Youngstown Air Reserve Station, Ohio is accepting the toys from Greater Western Reserve Council Cub Scout Pack 101 on behalf of the air station for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program. The mission of Toys for Tots is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted. Air Force Reserve, Navy Reserve as well as civilian personnel and the Marine Corps Reservists assigned to YARS team up to bring the Toys for Tots program to the residents of Youngstown, Warren and surrounding areas for the past several years.
