910th aircraft and crew delivers personnel and cargo to Haiti for relief effort
PORT-AU-PRINCE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, Haiti -- A group of U.S. Military medical personnel stand on the tarmac outside of hangar here after arriving via a C-130H Hercules tactical cargo transport aircraft assigned to Air Force Reserve Command's 910th Airlift Wing, January 18. The medical personnel, consisting of U.S. Army and Air Force Servicemembers were flown, by the 910th's C-130, to Haiti from Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras. The 910th, based at Youngstown Air Reserve Station, Ohio, has three aircraft and crews supporting the relief effort in the aftermath of a major earthquake that devastated Port-au-Prince and the surrounding areas. Currently more than 30 personnel from the 910th are flying relief effort missions with a myriad of Citizen Airmen working at YARS to provide home station support to the crews. The 910th Airlift Wing stands ready to provide airlift capabilities to the massive humanitarian effort as long as needed by mission requirements.
