910th aircraft and crew delivers personnel and cargo to Haiti for relief effort

SOTO CANO AIR BASE, Honduras -- Air Force Reserve Maj. Joe George, assigned to the 910th Operations Support Squadron, observes as ground cargo handling personnel use a forklift to load a pallet load aboard a C-130H Hercules tactical cargo transport aircraft, assigned to the 910th Airlift Wing, on the cargo ramp here, January 17. Maj. George is pilot of the C-130H and commander of a 12-person crew from the 910th, based at Youngstown Air Reserve Station, Ohio, scheduled to deliver the pallet, a HUMVEE military vehicle, a trailer and supplies along with a group of U.S. Military medical personnel to Port-au-Prince International Airport, Haiti as part of the relief effort to aid the people of the stricken island nation in the aftermath of the massive earthquake that devastated Port-au-Prince and surrounding areas last week. The 910th currently has three aircraft, crews of more than 30 personnel flying relief effort missions and a myriad of Citizen Airmen working at YARS to provide home station support to the crews. The 910th Airlift Wing stands ready to provide airlift capabilities to the massive humanitarian effort as long as needed by mission requirements.
