YARS C-130 soars over Austrian Alps during airlift mission
SOMEWHERE OVER AUSTRIA -- An Air Force Reserve C-130H Hercules tactical cargo transport aircraft assigned to the 910th Airlift Wing, based at Youngstown Air Reserve Station, Ohio flies over the Austrian Alpine mountains during an airlift mission to Naples, Italy, October 24, 2009. A crew of nine Citizen Airmen from the 910th are flying to the Naval Air Station in Naples to pick up 29 passengers and their baggage and deliver them to Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, Israel. The aircrew members flying on this airlift mission are among more than 70 Servicemembers from YARS attached to the 38th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron, based at Ramstein. The 38th EAS is supporting Operation Joint Enterprise by providing tactical airlift capability to locations in the U.S. Europe Command (EUROCOM), U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) and U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) theaters of operations.
