Bug Doc Provides Guidance for Spray Bird
PARRIS ISLAND, S.C. — Air Force Reserve Maj. Karl Haagsma, an entomologist with the 757th Airlift Squadron based at youngstown air Reserve Station, guides in a low flying C-130 Hercules aircraft as its crew prepares to spray for insects here, October 6. The specially-equipped aircraft applied a new environmentally friendly product to give the Marines here relief from biting midges and mosquitoes. The specially outfitted aerial spray aircraft distributes the insecticide from 150 feet off the ground to ensure maximum coverage of the target area. U.S. Air Force Photo/Tech Sgt. Dennis J.
