910th Reservists and Civilians Train with Local Responders During C-130 Rescue Training Exercise
YOUNGSTOWN AIR RESERVE STATION, OH—Air Force Reserve Master Sgt. Kevin Pratt (Right), a Fuels system supervisor with the 910th Maintenance Squadron, explains to local Vienna Rescuers how tank readings are monitored following an emergency response and rescue training exercise. The May 6 exercise scenario involved a fuels technician becoming incapacitated inside a C-130 wing fuel tank while performing maintenance duties. Mike Hagood (Front), Assistant Fire Chief for the Vienna Fire Department studies the Photoionization detector (PID). The detector uses an ultraviolet lamp to ionize vapor molecules measuring JP-8 (fuel used for C-130s) in parts per million and an estimate of JP-8 Lower Explosive Limit. This exercise is an annual requirement to train all tasked personnel in their response capabilities. U.S. Air Force Photo/Capt. Brent J. Davis
