Pilot for a Day honoree meets Thunderbirds
YOUNGSTOWN AIR RESERVE STATION, Ohio -- Maj. Anthony Mulhare, Maj. Kirby Ensser and Maj. Charla Quayle, pilots with the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds Air Demonstration Squadron, share flight stories with Carissa Page, a former Pilot for a Day honoree at the PFAD reunion during the YARS Air Show and Open House preview Aug. 7, 2009. The PFAD program allows children with chronic or life-threatening illnesses to become an honorary Air Force Reserve 2nd Lt. and treats them to a day of fun at the air station. More than 40 children have participated in the program's inception 10 years ago. U.S. Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt. Rick Lisum
