Range Operations

SMOKEY HILL WEAPONS RANGE, Kan.-- An Air Force Reserve aircrew flying a C-130 assigned to the 910th Airlift Wing, Youngstown Air Reserve Station, Ohio conducts an aerial spray mission here Nov. 7-9, 2006. The mission was a herbicide mission to control musk thistle and treated 2,800 acres at the Smokey Hill Weapons Range, located in Salina, Kan. The Smokey Hill Weapons range is one of several military installations where the 910th conducts aerial spray missions each year to combat biting insects, control problematic vegetation, or practice to respond to an oil spill.
