Pacific Responder

THE GULF OF THE FARALLONES -- Marine Spill Response Corporation crew members of the vessel Pacific Responder throw drift cards onto a simulated oil slick in preparation for the Safe Seas 2006 Oil Spill Response Exercise held Aug 9. The cards are tracked during and after the exercise to record the speed and direction an oil slick would travel. An Air Force Reserve C-130H assigned to the 910th Airlift Wing at Youngstown Air Reserve Station, Ohio targeted the slick spraying a simulated dispersant over it as part of the exercise.
