Major accident simulation tests 910th readiness

U.S. Air Force Reserve Chief Master Sgt. Paul Wagner, aerospace maintenance superintendant with the 910th Maintenance Squadron, and a Wing Inspection Team (WIT) member, watches Airmen on the Crash, Damaged, Disabled, Aircraft Recovery (CDDAR) team build a dunnage system under a C-130 aircraft wing during a Major Accident Readiness Exercise (MARE) here, April 23. The dunning system supports large airbags that can be inflated to lift the aircraft. In the exercise scenario, the C-130 aircraft’s landing gear collapsed while landing on the assault strip. Debris from the aircraft hit a private aircraft taxiing nearby. Base emergency response personnel tested their response capability while Wing Inspection Team (WIT) members observed.
