U.S. Air Force Reserve Capt. Casey Stedman, a navigator with the 773rd Airlift Squadron (right), stands with Hawai'i Space Exploration Analog and Simulation (HI-SEAS) crew members on the slopes of Mauna Loa, a volcanic mountain in Hawaii. Stedman was selected as the mission commander for the second HI-SEAS mission, during which he will spend four months in a geodesic dome, beginning March 28, 2014. The mission is designed to simulate a long-term manned mission to Mars. Stedman is part of a six-person team. (Courtesy photo/Mr. Ross Lockwood, HI-SEAS).
