Air Force structure changes means YARS aircraft, personnel losses
YOUNGSTOWN AIR RESERVE STATION, Ohio - A group of C-130 Hercules tactical cargo transport aircraft, assigned to the Air Force Reserve's 910th Airlift Wing, based here, taxi on the flightline prior to taking off for an eight aircraft training mission, June, 22, 2013. Air Force structure changes removed two C-130's from the wing's inventory, effective Oct. 1, 2013. Addditionally, two more aircraft will be removed form the unit's inventory and approximately 200 related positions will be eliminated from the wing's manning document by March 31, 2014. Following these force structure changes, eight C-130s will be assigned to the 910th Airlift Wing, home of the Department of Defense's onmly large-area, fixed wing aerial spray capability.
