Invasice Halogeton at coverse bombing range
A close up of the invasive weed, Halogeton, taken March 18, 2015. The weed, if left unchecked, can obscure target sites on the bombing range and make locating UXOs difficult and dangerous for EOD teams working on the Utah Test and Training Range nearby here. The 910th Airlift Wing based at Youngstown Air Reserve Station, Ohio and home to the Department of Defense’s only large area, fixed wing aerial spray capability, conducted a two-week aerial spray mission over UTTR, March 9 – 20, 2015, to eliminate Halogeton from selected target areas.
