910th’s Utah aerial spray mission aids EOD, provides training and cost savings

HILL AIR FORCE BASE, Utah – Air Force Reserve Tech. Sgt. Rick Lisum, 910th Airlift Wing Public Affairs Photojournalist based at Youngstown Air Reserve Station, Ohio, photographs a C-130 Hercules aircraft conducting aerial spray operations at an altitude of approximately 100 feet above the ground over a target site on the Utah Test and Training Range near here, March 18, 2015. The C-130 assigned to 910th Airlift Wing based at Youngstown Air Reserve Station, Ohio and home to the Department of Defense’s only large area, fixed wing aerial spray capability, is flying at the low altitude to control the placement of herbicide onto the selected target areas while conducting a two-week aerial spray mission over UTTR, March 9 – 20, 2015, to eliminate unwanted ground-covering invasive weeds.
