For emergency response, preparation is paramount
Master Sgt. Anthony Kennedy, a communication and navigation systems craftsman with the 910th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, operates an air compression manifold to inflate lift bags beneath a C-130H Hercules aircraft during a Major Accident Response Exercise (MARE), May 16, 2017. Kennedy is part of the CDDAR Team, which is trained to respond following an aircraft accident to stabilize and prepare the aircraft for recovery after emergency responders have secured the scene. The lift bags raise the aircraft for further maintenance. The purpose of the exercise, conducted by the Wing Inspection Team and Emergency Management office, was to document response capabilities of installation personnel while honing joint response practices with local agencies including local law enforcement and the American Red Cross.
