Prop shop tackles engine swap
Tech. Sgt. Jeff Burgess and Tech. Sgt. Steven Lew, both aerospace propulsion craftsmen, use specialized tools to remove a guide cone from a C-130H Hercules aircraft engine mounting point, March 7, 2018. The team removed the engine from the aircraft during an isochronal inspection in order to swap it with a different engine. Maintainers clean the guide cones and ports when they swap engines to prepare them for inspection and ensure they’re in good repair. The guide cones help ensure proper alignment when mounting the engine to the aircraft. (U.S. Air Force photo/Eric M. White)
