Forty-eight stars honor veteran on Flag Day
Charles Robert Johnson Jr. folds a 48-star flag with Maj. Scott Allen, 910th Airlift Wing chief of Public Affairs, on Flag Day, June 14, 2018, here. Johnson purchased the flag and requested it be flown at a U.S. Air Force base and aboard an Air Force aircraft in honor of his deceased father, U.S. Air Force Capt. Charles Robert Johnson Sr., a World War II veteran. The flag will be flown aboard a 910th Airlift Wing C-130H Hercules aircraft before being returned to Johnson Jr. June 14 also marks Johnson Sr.’s birthday. (U.S. Air Force photo/Eric M. White)
