The 910th Airlift Wing and its Defense Community
Lt. Col. John Boccieri, director of the 910th Airlift Wing Commander’s Action Group, addresses the benefits of the Air Force Community Partnership Program during a meeting at America Makes in Youngstown, June 14, 2018. The meeting covered the 3-D printing partnership between Youngstown Air Reserve Station, Youngstown State University and America Makes. Additive manufacturing, or 3-D printing, offers potential for aircraft parts to be made quicker and at a lower cost, yet as sturdy as their machined counterparts. The Air Force Community Partnership Program is a way for installation and community leaders to develop creative ways to leverage their capabilities and resources to achieve reduced costs by finding shared values.
