Tree-planting honors Arbor Day
Brady McCann, an environmental engineer here, Col. Joe Janik, vice commander of the 910th Airlift Wing, and Maj. Wendy Strainic, executive officer for the 910th Airlift Wing, pose for a photo while planting a tree on the installation grounds, April 27, 2018. The tree was planted as part of YARS' annual recognition of Arbor Day as a Tree City USA location for the past 24 years. Tree City USA, an Arbor Day Foundation program, grants the status to communities that have a tree board or department, have a tree ordinance, spend at least $2 per capita on forestry and celebrate Arbor Day.
