Chief Master Sgt. Howard P. Dixon Jr. is the Command Chief of the 910th Airlift Wing, Youngstown Air Reserve Station, Ohio. As the Wing’s Senior Enlisted Advisor, he advises on all matters affecting & accountable for the management of the enlisted force. As liaison to & collaborator with other staff agencies, he correlates & executes the Commander’s directives with no gaps & zero mission stoppages.
Chief Dixon entered REGAF in June 2001 & graduated basic military training in August 2001. He attended pharmacy technical training at Sheppard AFB, Texas. Upon graduation, he began his permanent party service as a Certified Pharmacy Technician at Wilford Hall Medical Center in January 2002. In September 2005, Chief Dixon transitioned to the 42nd Medical Group at Maxwell AFB, Alabama. After three years of providing outpatient pharmacy service, he expanded his toolbox & retrained into Bioenvironmental Engineering. In July 2009, he arrived at the 43rd Medical Group on Pope Army Airfield as a newly trained Bioenvironmental Engineering technician. He provided health & wellness with inclusive vulnerability assessments, until his Reserve transition in April 2011. Transitioning required him to move back to Texas to secure a slot. The 433rd Medical Squadron gave him the opportunity to continue service while focusing on his civilian career. In January 2013, he became a Medical Technician, serving in multiple roles preparing him for selection as the Squadron Superintendent in January 2020. In July 2021, he became the Senior Enlisted Leader for the 349th Medical Group at Travis AFB California. In September 2023, Chief Dixon was selected as Air Force Reserve Command’s Chief, Medical Enlisted Force at Robins AFB, Georgia where he cultivated the medical skills of 8.5K Airmen.
