The 910th Airlift Wing hosted local news station WKBN-TV for its fourth annual holiday video greeting recording session on Dec. 5, 2021, backdropped by a Christmas tree and the C-130 Bar & Grille fireplace in Youngstown Air Reserve Station’s Community Activity Center. Participants wished happy holidays to their family, friends and local community to be aired on the news station.

Reserve Citizen Airmen, Department of Defense civilians, contractors, Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) employees, and Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) employees were all welcomed to record. The only requirement was to show up with your best holiday spirit.

“Previous to this, we got greetings through the military men and women that were deployed, but we were only getting a few local ones on DVIDS and maybe some regional,” said David Redig, the promotions director for WKBN-TV. “So we were like how can we highlight our local military men and women… and so we partnered with the local air reserve station, spurring us to where we are now.”

Recordings will be aired repeatedly on WKBN-TV out of Youngstown, Ohio, through to the new year and offered to the channel’s sister station closest to each participant’s hometown for additional air time. Participants will be emailed a link to their holiday greeting video upon its commercial airing and subsequent upload to WKBN-TV’s website.

We wish our readers a Happy Holidays from the 910th Airlift Wing/Youngstown Air Reserve Station.
