New mayor of Youngstown visits 910th, YARS

YOUNGSTOWN AIR RESERVE STATION, Ohio – Air Force Reserve Col. James Dignan (right), commander of the 910th Airlift Wing; Mayor John McNally (center), of the nearby City of Youngstown; and Judge Robert Milich (left), the presiding judge of Youngstown’s Veteran’s Treatment Court, stand in front of the Eagle’s Nest Lodge during the mayor’s installation visit here, Jan. 17, 2014. YOUNGSTOWN AIR RESERVE STATION, Ohio – Mayor John McNally, of the nearby City of Youngstown, talks about facilities amenities with Air Force Reserve 910th Lodging Manager Cheryl Taylor in one of the Eagle’s Nest Lodge’s Distinguished Visitor suites here, Jan. 17, 2014. Following a group meal at the adjacent YARS Community Activity Center, Mayor McNally continued his installation visit with a tour of the 123-room Eagle’s Nest Lodge. The tour of the lodging facility was guided by 910th Mission Support Group commander Teresa Hams, 910th Chief of Services Nancy Rubino and Ms. Taylor. The mayor visited YARS to learn more about the wing’s capabilities and the installation’s features firsthand as well as meet some of the Citizen Airmen assigned here.

YOUNGSTOWN AIR RESERVE STATION, Ohio – The mayor’s visit to YARS concluded with a guided tour of the wing’s one-of-a-kind mission. Air Force Reserve Senior Master Sgt. Phil Aliberti, 910th Aerial Spray Maintenance Chief, shows one of the nozzles used in the wing’s aerial spray missions to Mayor John McNally (left), of the nearby City of Youngstown, at the Aerial Spray Facility here during an installation visit, Jan. 17, 2014. The nozzle Sergeant Aliberti is holding is part of the Modular Aerial Spray System (MASS). The MASS is used to carry out the unit’s unique capability. The 910th Airlift Wing is home to the Department of Defense’s only aerial spray squadron. The mayor visited YARS to learn more about the wing’s mission and the installation’s features firsthand as well as meet some of the Citizen Airmen assigned here.

YOUNGSTOWN AIR RESERVE STATION, Ohio -- Mayor John McNally, of the nearby City of Youngstown, visited the Air Force Reserve's 910th Airlift Wing based here, Jan. 17, 2014. The mayor, who took office less than a month ago, toured YARS to learn more about the wing's capabilities and the installation's features firsthand as well as meet some of the Citizen Airmen assigned here. During the tour, the mayor visited the installation's Community Activity Center and Eagle's Nest Lodge. He also toured a maintenance hangar, a C-130 Hercules tactical cargo transport aircraft and the Department of Defense's only Aerial Spray Maintenance Facility.
