YARS a welcome presence at Scrappers home opener

A 910th Airlift Wing C-130H Hercules aircraft performs a low-level flyover for a stadium full of spectators during the singing of the National Anthem at the Mahoning Valley Scrappers baseball team’s home opener, Wednesday, June 20, 2012. The base color guard presented the colors during the Anthem, and Col. Reinhard Schmidt, commander of the 910th Airlift Wing, threw out the first pitch. Air Force recruiters from YARS set up a display table on the concourse and made their presence known by parading Airman Andy, a large inflatable mascot, through the stands to greet fans. As fans entered the stadium, they were able to view a Humvee from the Marine Corps Reserve Landing Support Equipment Company, Youngstown.
