The great task remaining before us
A statute of Gouverneur Kemble Warren resides at Little Round Top in Gettysburg National Military Park on Oct. 12, 2019. A brigadier general in the Civil War, Warren realized the importance of Little Round Top’s location during the Battle of Gettysburg and sent Col. Strong Vincent to hold the position as the confederates began their attack. Due to Warren’s actions, the Union Army was able to hold the area and eventually win the battle.
