White 910th Airlift Wing Public Affairs YOUNGSTOWN AIR RESERVE STATION, Ohio -- Reserve Citizen Airmen from the 910th Airlift Wing helped fulfill a unique request by honoring a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II here, June 14, 2018. Charles Robert Johnson Jr. contacted the 910th AW public affairs office to ask if a 48-star U.S. flag he'd purchased in honor of his deceased father, Capt. Charles Robert Johnson Sr., could be flown at an Air Force installation and aboard an Air Force aircraft. The special flag, which was standard during WWII, was raised to the top of the Youngstown Air Reserve Station headquarters flagpole on Flag Day, also Johnson Sr.'s birthday, and will be flown aboard a 910th AW C-130H Hercules aircraft before being returned to Johnson Jr.
