The system, the first of its kind installed on an U.S. Air Force installation, is designed to react to an extreme heat source on the table within one hundred milliseconds, or one-tenth of a second, by spraying approximately 300 gallons of water to extinguish any accidental ignition of munitions to protect personnel and property. The test was successful.
