Maj. Gen. John P. Healy, the commander of 22nd Air Force, visited Youngstown Air Reserve Station March 6-8, 2020, and toured several areas March 7. As a newly appointed numbered Air Force Commander, Healy intends to visit as many bases under his command as possible in order to better understand their missions, capabilities and culture. While at YARS, Healy recognized and coined eight Reserve Citizen Airmen for their performance in their squadrons and dedication to their Wingmen.

The 22nd Air force has command supervision of the Air Force Reserve’s tactical air mobility operations and other vital mission sets to include distinguished visitor airlift, undergraduate pilot training, flight test operations and a highly mobile civil engineering response force.
