Lunch and Learn brings fitness tips to Airmen Published Feb. 2, 2021 By Airman 1st Class Chris Corso 910th Airlift Wing Public Affairs YOUNGSTOWN AIR RESERVE STATION, Ohio -- Youngstown Air Reserve Station’s Airman and Family Readiness center held their monthly Lunch and Learn event focused on educating Airmen and their families on a variety of topics here, Jan. 10, 2021. “Lunch and learn is an opportunity every UTA for the helping agencies to showcase their programs to Airmen in an informal way,” said James Naughton, director of Airman and Family Readiness. The beginning of a new year often marks a time where individuals embark toward new goals. This week’s Lunch and Learn educated Airmen on creating fitness goals and workout programs. “Knowledge is power,” said Matt Gruse, exercise physiologist for the 910th Airlift Wing. “The more you know about training, the more you can put it toward your own needs. That’s the beauty of where fitness is going right now, a lot of stuff that’s online and interactive that’s going to help build that knowledge. And once you have that knowledge, it’s going to be easier to transfer that into whatever you’re trying to do. Lunch and Learn events will take place every Sunday of the A-UTA from 11:30 a.m.–12:15 p.m. in building 201 for the next year. The schedule includes: February 2021: Love languages with the Chaplain Corps March 2021: Taxes and savings with Lucienne Hinger-Hubiak April 2021: Appreciation in the workplace with Terri Ann Naughton May 2021: Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve with John Marino “I believe the 910th Helping Agencies are fitting these 45-minute classes into the wing mission statement of preparing our Airmen to be: ‘Combat ready NOW…for tomorrow’s fight!’” said Naughton, quoting the 910th AW mission statement.
