Lunch and Learn prepares Airmen for tax season Published March 22, 2021 By Airman Chris Corso 910th Airlift Wing Public Affairs YOUNGSTOWN AIR RESERVE STATION, Ohio -- The Airman and Family Readiness Center held their monthly Lunch and Learn event focused on educating Airmen and their families on a variety of topics here, March 7, 2021. This week, the event was based on helping Airmen prepare their taxes during this tax season. “It’s important to have confidence to be able to prepare your taxes, and I think a lot of people are not confident in what to report,” said Lucienne Hinger-Hubiak, a local financial advisor who taught the class. “With money, there is a certain amount of anxiety and stress about ‘I don’t want to make a wrong move, I don’t want to make a mistake,’ and the reality of it is if we get a little bit of education we can actually have people prepare their taxes and be confident.” The Lunch and Learn series takes place every Sunday of the Unit Training Assembly from 11:30 a.m.–12:15 p.m. in building 201 except during April which is pending a reschedule. Future topics covered will include: (Pending) 2021: Appreciation in the work place with Terri Ann Naughton (Pending) May 2021: ESGR (Employment Support For Guard and Reserve) with John Marino “Lunch and learn is an opportunity every UTA for the helping agencies to showcase their programs to Airmen in an informal way,” said James Naughton, director of Airman and Family Readiness.
