YOUNGSTOWN AIR RESERVE STATION, Ohio -- The northeast chapter of the American Society of Safety Professionals held their monthly meeting at Youngstown Air Reserve Station on Nov. 16, 2018.
ASSP is a global association for occupational safety and health professionals. They provide education, advocacy, standards development and a professional community to their members in order to advance their careers and the OSH profession as a whole.
Col. Drew Tancer, the 910th Airlift Wing’s safety officer, and Master Sgt. Michael Riggenbach, an occupational safety technician with the 910th AW, escorted the group around YARS explaining the safety aspects of an Air Force Reserve installation.
“They’re all from different safety realms,” said Riggenbach. “They do a monthly meeting and try to go to different places to get different ideas and different views on what people do, how they handle safety and what their safety responsibilities are.”
The visit included a walkthrough of a 910th C-130H Hercules aircraft and the insallation's aerial spray maintenance facility.
